The One Thing Swiss Germans Really Love
Did you know that two thirds of tourists visiting Ticino (the Italian speaking region of Switzerland ) are Swiss German?
So many people of the German speaking area have a second home there, or go and visit regularly . They enjoy its sunny weather, stunning views and excellent food. That’s why this year the theme of the festival is the Ticino region, that boasts some incredibly talented chefs.
Last Night at the Widder
The festival had its second evening last night in Zurich, at the Widder Hotel. We were served drinks and canapés from local producers and then a full formal menu by Andrea Bertarini, Mauro Grandi, Egidio Iadonisi and Frank Oerthle, stars of the Ticino gastronomy. We enjoyed it so much, that gave a standing ovation to the crew and the whole staff.
Among the guests, Sergio Ermotti, CEO of UBS, Platinum partner of San Pellegrino Sapori Ticino.
The Media Table
Personally I had a great time with Natalie and Benjamin of Ascona-Locarno and Dimitri and Mamiko of Newlyswissed.
The evening was fun and relaxed (maybe also thanks to the excellent selection of wines?) and we laughed a lot.
I can’t resist posting some pictures of the recipes – if you want to see more, go to the San Pellegrino Sapori Ticino website.
