      Postcard from the Maldives - picture perfect 🗾👙 Of the three destinations we've just visited (India and Sri Lanka were the first two), the Maldives were my least favorite. Of course they are diving paradise, and great for a honeymoon or a romantic week. The water is amazing and colors are unique indeed. But there is no village or local life, no culture, no big chance to run (apart from treadmills), not that much to do, they are far and expensive, and when it rains one can see some patches in the sand, showing that there is a kind of pavement below. A mix of wonderful nature and heavy human work. Beautiful and almost too perfect! #maldives #maldivesgetaway #maldivesresort #velassaru

One of the goals of this wonderful, long holiday was improving my muscle tone, going to swim (something I'm a bit lazy about), and strengthening my mental discipline to train first thing in the morning. I am not a morning person, but that's the ideal moment to move, for my lifestyle.       Digital detox and Ayurveda: one week in Sri Lanka. Digital detox and Ayurveda: one week in Sri Lanka. Always oily, active and offline. Was it worth it? I loved it so much that I even considered shutting down my Instagram profile. Without social media, I gained a lot of time. Hubby said he's happy I am back online, at least I am a bit more quiet and talk less 😁 Here are the new ideas and tips I am bringing home, following the Ayurveda doctor, the yoga master and the gym trainer in Sri Lanka - Always drink water while sitting. Never drink water while standing - Avoid coffee or keep it to the minimum. Always drink water before drinking a coffee, to limit its bad effects - Every time you go downstairs, do it backward. It's especially good for the knees (to prevent pain) and for balance. Hold yourself to the rail to make sure you don't fall. Don't be afraid of looking weird, we are all weird - Always get up from bed by rolling (not standing up immediately) on the left side - Meditate. In Sri Lanka, if you sit somewhere in lotus position and close your eyes, everybody thinks it's normal. - Vibrations calm babies down when they cry. Use the "ommmm" to calm them or yourself down - Use black seed oil for self massage (to ease osteoarthritis) - Eat fat fish and seeds for Omega 3 - Add seeds to breakfast - Add also protein, especially from beans. Moonbeans are the best for my type - Pasta is ok and rice too, but I shouldn't exaggerate. To my husband, the Ayurveda doc suggested he only has carbs at breakfast and lunch. Dinner should be anyway the lightest meal of the day - Stick your ass out when squatting or lifting weights or doing dog's position in yoga; in general we crunch too much and don't keep our back straight In the gallery, different moments of our "mind and body" week🧘 Last slide: just someone working, probably in his 60s, straightening his legs like a yoga teacher.
