Geri and I are quite proud of our brown mane and keep it natural. From time to time, Geri likes to experiment and enhance her shade. I try to do nothing, but have to cover my first grey hair, so I need a permanent colouration. We were delighted when Schwarzkopf asked us to try Color Expert  – the first home hair colour with Omega Plex Professional Anti Breakage Technology –  it had all the characteristics we were looking for. We wanted to really test it to see if it’s really a good option for us long term, because and we are so busy with our job that we certainly can’t afford to sit in a hairdresser for hours every month, but also need top quality products and perfect hair.

Testing

We first chose our favourite shade among the 16 different available options. We both went for brown, a slightly lighter shade for me.

Then, we tested the color against allergies.  48 hours before the colouring we applied a small quantity of product on our wrists. No reaction happened, so we went ahead and met for our “Spa-at-Home” day.

Spa Day

More than just a test, we decided to do a girlie day to relax, read a magazine, check our Instagram and do our hair as well.

My first attempt was a failure: I squeezed the bottle and realised it was still closed. You know when you start laughing for something silly and can’t stop? At least we used the best beauty recipe ever: a good laugh. But finally I managed to color my hair and Geri did hers, and 20  minutes later we took a shower and looked at the results. We were very curious.

It Works

Our hair looked good and above all felt good:  Color Expert protects your hair against up to 90% less breakage (in comparison to untreated hair). This gives the soft feeling everybody is looking for.

We were also very happy with how natural the result was, the shine and, in my case, how immaculately covered my grey hair was. But the interesting part comes now: how long does the effect last, so fresh and rich of nuance? Hard to see the difference! As I said, our goal when colouring our hair is making it looks as natural as possible. So in the pictures you will only see that our colour is less “flat”, more shiny and full of nuances, but the overall effect is quite similar to our natural colour. What does feel better is the softness and the structure of the hair: ready for pictures and…of course to be caressed!
