Barnängen Beauty – Back to Balance
Traveling is one of the best things in blogging life – I still love it as I did the first day. But who likes packing, rushing from a place to the other, fighting jet-lag, or trying to look beautiful when you are overtired? One needs a way to go back to balance – something that feels just right.
Recently I found myself wearing full make-up after a photo shooting. I had two hours break before the following job and all I wished for was going back to my hotel room. When I arrived, I filled up the bath with one of my favourite treats – Barnängen Sauna Relax and Shower & Bath Gel, that I keep in my travel beauty-case. The benefit was immediate. The delicate smell of the aromatherapy oils and the warm water brought me to a completely relaxed state. I could even pose for the camera again and have a diva moment.
Since I discovered Barnängen, I have learnt about the Swedish way of seeing life that has helped me a lot in some daily situations. Their way of reaching that centre of balance that simply feels right (they call it lagom and has become the philosophy that is the basis of the Barnängen beauty range) for me is almost a meditative state. I have my rituals (a bubbly bath and breathing fresh air from the window, for example) that gently bring me back where I feel best.
After the bath, I applied the Nutritive Body Lotion, that prolongs the effect of the bath and nourishes and firms the skin. This cream contains patented Cold Cream together with carefully selected Nordic inspired ingredients – such as cloudberry. It has the perfect texture that is immediately absorbed – not too rich, not too delicate.
Another product I use a lot for photo shootings – because it gives me a glow and shine that are most pleasant to the eye – is the Midsommer Glow Body Oil. I spray it generously because…guess what? It’s not too oily, or too light. Just the right consistency.
In these pictures, I had a Monica Bellucci moment and even went to the terrace in my bathrobe. The sun was shining and its rays touched my skin. Can you imagine how I felt? Beauty rituals can be a balsam for the soul – a way to reach the balance that feels so…lagom!
