Obama Receives Media Prize in Baden-Baden

The Deutscher Medienpreis (German Media Prize) is a prestigious prize awarded to personalities or politicians that greatly influenced society with their work. Last night the winner for 2016, Barack Obama, received his trophy in Baden-Baden, during an official ceremony at the Congress House.

I had the privilege to join the event as press and couldn’t believe my luck: not only I highly respect Mr.Obama and his work, but I also loved seeing all the German and Swiss personalities that arrived on the red carpet and became an active part of the evening and of the entertainment. I felt both people in the streets and VIP personalities were genuinely interested in the event and in having the chance to meet Obama. Of course, those who were there were his fans. But I also think that a big part of the population really is missing this guy and feels worried about the current administration.

Among the guests of the evening there were Lilly and Boris Becker, Joachim Löw,  Victoria’s Secret model Toni Garrn, Katarina Witt, Monika and Georges Kern, Wolfgang Porsche, Andrea Berg.
